Terms of Use
Last updated: 4 September 2026
These terms cover your use of the NitroHUD Android application, published by Hugo Software.
1. What the app is
NitroHUD displays your speed as measured by your device's GNSS (GPS) receiver, mirrors that readout for windshield reflection, records trips, and offers timing and sensor tools. It is a driver information aid, not a certified measuring instrument.
2. Safe use — please read
- Set the app up before you start driving. Do not operate the phone while the vehicle is moving.
- Mount the device so that it does not obstruct your view or interfere with the vehicle's controls, and so that it cannot come loose. In many countries an obstructed windshield is itself an offence.
- The speed shown depends on satellite reception and can be wrong or delayed, especially in tunnels, urban canyons or at low speed. Your vehicle's own speedometer and the posted limits are always what count.
- NitroHUD holds no speed-limit database and never tells you what the legal limit is. Any alert threshold in the app is one you entered.
- You remain solely responsible for obeying traffic law and for driving safely.
3. Free features and PRO subscription
Core features — the speedometer, HUD mirror mode, compass, live trip readout and one speed alert — are free.
PRO unlocks additional gauge designs, layouts, the acceleration timer, the G-force meter, unlimited trip history, CSV/GPX export, altitude and grade, odometers and brightness control.
- PRO is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through Google Play in weekly, monthly and yearly plans.
- A 3-day free trial is offered where Google Play makes it available to you.
- The price shown to you is the price Google Play charges in your local currency.
- Payment is taken by Google. The subscription renews automatically until cancelled.
- Cancel or manage at any time in Google Play → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; access continues until the end of the paid period. Cancel at least 24 hours before a trial ends to avoid being charged.
- Refunds are handled under Google Play's refund policy. Write to us and we will help where we can.
4. Your content
Trips, records and exported files are yours and stay on your device. We do not receive them and cannot restore them for you — if you uninstall the app or clear its data, they are gone.
5. Acceptable use
Do not decompile, resell or redistribute the app, and do not use it to break the law. Do not use the timing tools on public roads: they are intended for closed roads and tracks.
6. Availability and changes
Features may change between versions. We may stop distributing the app; existing installations keep working, but subscriptions can then be cancelled.
7. Disclaimer and liability
The app is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hugo Software is not liable for any loss, damage, penalty, fine or injury arising from use of the app, from reliance on a displayed speed or distance, or from operating a device while driving. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
